Why only driveways
A loose surface driveway is a simple thing that goes wrong in a small number of predictable ways, and they are the same ways whether the surface is crushed shell or crushed stone. It sinks because the base was thin. It ruts because water had nowhere to go. It ends up in the lawn because nothing was holding the edge.
Doing the same job over and over across the same towns means knowing what the ground does in each of them, and building for it rather than finding out afterwards. Two materials, one kind of work, one stretch of coast. We would rather be genuinely good at that than passably good at everything.
What to expect
- We come and look at it
- Estimates are free, and we would rather walk the driveway than quote off a satellite photo. Slope, access for the truck, where the water currently goes: all of it changes the number.
- You get told what it actually needs
- If a top-off will hold you for a few more years, we will say that rather than sell you a full rebuild. If the base is gone, we will say that too.
- Straight answers on the downsides
- Shell is sharp underfoot and it moves where cars turn hard. Better you hear that before the job than after it.
